You've got mail

My personal email account is flooded.
Before I go on, let me just state that I have only 2 active email accounts left. And they are both gmails. Thus, if you are still sending emails to my defunct yahoo account (!!), "WHAT KIND OF FRIEND ARE YOU?". And if you are sending emails to my very-very-long-ago hotmail account (!!!!!), you are definitely not a friend.

So, just solely based on my 2 gmail accounts, I have like 200 plus unread mails.
I kid you not.
I don't know how I could possibly accumulate this much junk in my email accounts. Especially since I hop from accounts to accounts just to escape spam and junk.
I guess those will never leave your aside, as long as you have an active email account.

It's like, when I need to fill up some registration form online, and they ask for email accounts, I am lost as to which I should use. Quite some time back, I resolved to clean up my act and use a specific email account for junk. That is, when I apply for nonsense online (nothing whatsoever related to porn), I'd use that particular email account, so all the junk can be accumulated there and be left to r-o-t.

Along the way, the lines became blurred.
It's like, some sneaky organisations use the email account as a sign in account. That is, you need to sign into whatever you need to sign into using your email account. So I can't possibly sign in with whothefuckcares@yahoo.com right? (No. That is not my real email account with yahoo). Other times, at the end of a long tedious registration form, they'd tell you.. "We will send you an email for verification to your specified email account. Please click on the link to activate the services".
And you'd go (perhaps just me), "o.m.f.g!!! And sit for 20 minutes trying to recall the password you used for that silly idfefinitelydont@hotmail.com .

I lose count of the number of online registration forms I fill up in a month.
Almost everything requires an email account now.
From e-alert services on HDB's newest flats to comments on blogs.
What happened to those days where I just need to type my comments in a small box and they'd appear instantly?
Nowadays, leaving comments on blogs require you to sign up for a particular account, or worse have further instructions mailed to your email address.
I have yet to check my email for the mentioned further instructions. But if it goes along the line of, 1.Fill up this 20 page registration form 2. email the registration form to thisishell@whatever.com 3.Wait for a confirmation email from our administrator 4. Your comments can now be viewed...
Well, then screw technology when that day happens.

Why so uptight?

I gather my 200plus emails are mostly junk from the various memberships, accounts, free services, blog subscriptions etc.
Out of these 200 plus emails, I probably get like 50 forwarded emails (dating back to July). I know they keep piling in my mail box, and I really do enjoy going through them when I am free (except for those really really ridiculous chain mails), I don't seem to be able to cultivate the mood to open these forwarded mails and read.
I usually view these mails selectively. That is, when I know it contains jpeg attachments because I am guaranteed of visual fun.

Seriously after a tough day at work, looking at excel spreadsheets over and over.
I just want to see pictures and laugh my ass off.
I don't like to read those inspirational stuff, because.. well they are a tad boring.

After this mighty long way.
You are wondering so what's my point?
Well, my point is.
Gone are the days where emails, like snail mails contain that sweet and heartwarming touch. As much as I think emails (like REAL emails with heartfelts written) are not as nice as real letter mails, I love reading updates on my friend's life.. or just rants from a person. A real person.

With blogs.
Nobody use emails to lash out anymore.
Which is sad.

Because you no longer have that..
OOH-I've-got-mail-feeling.

I kinda miss that.
*HINT HINT*

Send me emails now!

Ok. If you are spam/junk. Then don't.
