Pivot
I spent the whole day yesterday learning and doing pivot tables on Excel. If you do not know what a pivot table is, good for you. Because a pivot table like how it sounds, is a major pain in the ass. Because when you need to do a pivot table you know you are in the deepest of shits. That is, you have like 203948034958034958304952835 (I exaggerate) of rows. Yes, of course I am kidding, apparently Excel has a limit on the number of rows (or is it cells)? And it's apparently 50k.
I don't think I will hit 50k rows of information on Excel. But trust me, the day I do hit 50k? I'd quit.
7,000 and I am already seeing stars.
So the earlier part of the day (yesterday) was spent just watching, taking notes and going through the many other stuff. I spent the rest of the day (yesterday) doing up a pivot table. And it ain't easy. Not only do I have to do a pivot table, my pivot table has to show the information that I want the stupid pivot table to show.
And boy was it freakish. Out of I think 4,000 rows of information, all I had wanted to extract out was just about 100 rows.
I was so fed up (yesterday) after all that pivot shit, that I thought I'd save it all up and continue the last part today. I was left with only 10% of information left to analyse before I could really call it a day. I have no idea why I just couldn't finish up the 10% information yesterday and get it done once and for all. I really have no idea.
Because today, I realised..
My PIVOT TABLE wasn't saved. Nor the information I had extracted after all that squinting and analysis.
If you were me, you'd be pissed off too right?
I was just about calm.
Calmly redid the entire pivot table, analyse and all that shit today.
Grrr.
I am learning about my job the hard way.
Nobody tells me what I should be doing, or how I should write my emails and to whom I am supposed to write my emails too.
How the freak should I know a particular email with particular issues should be sent to a particular WHO?
Nobody gives me an org chart, nor do they tell me what's directed to whom and what's not.
Excuse me.
It's only my 7th day at work.
-gives myself a pat on my back-
I am proud of what I've learnt thus far.
I just HATE it when the folks I am emailing just don't seem to care shit and are just plain r-u-d-e.
Excuse me, like I am supposed to know.
The rain yesterday at around 5+ was phenomenal.
With my little lightweight umbrella, I braved the rain only to be drenched through and through.
It was that bad lor.
The wind was so strong, it blew my umbrella off. Sigh.
I swam to central Orchard.
I hate working in Orchard.
I am putting on weight as we speak. You cannot help but feast on fast food at Orchard, because there's just about every single fast food restaurant you can think of. And worse, there's no nice slice fish bee hoon now for me to order every single day. You're just very spoilt for choice in Orchard for food (and shopping).
I think I should just stuff bread in my mouth and shop instead.
It's a die-die situation either way.
The GREAT SINGAPORE SALE is coming.
I am going to start saving for it NOW.
(Like real)
The looooonnngg weekend's starting tomorrow!
Ho ho ho.
