Beyond Lies

When I was young, my parents grilled me on lying.
I often told lies just because it would get me things that telling the truth wouldn't.
Lying about some "extra classes" when in actual, I really snuck out to hang out with friends. Naturally, they were furious when those lies unfold, and I couldn never understand why they always snapped the way they did.

As we grew older, we begin learning the notion of white lies.
When the situation arose that leaves you no choice but to lie for the benefit of the person that you are lying to, that (white) lie becomes justified.

White lie or not. I feel lies are never justified.
Explanations of a lie becomes nothing but, excuses.
"I lied because telling the truth would make you angry, I lied because telling the truth would hurt you, I lied because..."
For me, it simply ends at "I lied."
Anything thereafter is punitive.

Who are you to judge if telling the truth or lying is best for that person involved? More often than not a lie is not for the benefit of yourself. Because you are afraid of letting the other party face the truth, not because you are afraid the other party is unable to handle the truth.

Beyond lies, keeping the truth from one and deliberately not telling the truth. Is that a lie or not?
Many will argue that it is not. Because they did not provide a false statement, they simply did not provide any statements for that matter. The say, if asked, I will speak the truth. And they'd argue that they were never asked in the beginning, for if they were, they would say the truth.
I personally feel that is lame like so fucking lame.
Does it hurt for you to provide additional information that was not required or not asked? Would you lose your tongue for saying stuff without being asked to? Especially so when its within a relationship. Nothing in a relationship is additional information.

I hate being lied to.
And I am cocksure everyone else hates to be lied to, so stop the lies. The betrayal can be too hard to bear.
