Winter Elevator

After viewing a couple of Korean dramas, I believe I found the success contributing factors.
In fact, I am confident of producing a record Korean drama serial.

1. Always have 2 male leads and 2 female leads.
There must always be a love triangle in existence. Therefore, ideally, we should have 4 main characters.

2. One must always die. Preferably the girl.
This makes it more enticing to the viewers.
The illness must be as follows:
- some form of cancer
- leukemia (which is a form of cancer)
- major heart problem
- cancer
Scenes must always involve the female lead writhing painfully in white hospital garbs. The male lead must always run along the corridors of hospital in tears.

3. One of the 2 male leads must always be rich.
Son of some major hotel business, MNC CEO, owner of amusement parks, shopping centres, etc.
Not only must he be rich, he must be powerful enough to be soo goddamn ridiculously romantic.
So romantic, that it would only make girls like us turn to our boyfriends and ask: why are you just not like that?

4. There must always be a gift of love between the 2 star-crossed lovers
That is, either a ring that both should have. Or a necklace given to the female lead (its usually the females that receive stuff like that).
And that item will always be with them till the very end. So much so you wonder if they do take it off when they bathe. Cos after 5 years, it still looks the same??
Must of the time, the item (either ring or necklace) is used as a form of identification after years of separation (see below)

5. There must always be a tragic separation at the beginning of the drama, followed by a dramatic reconciliation. The following scenarios are recommended and very common.
- accident causing a loss of memory
- overseas studies
- accident causion a loss of memory
- loss of memory
- loss of memory

6. The story should always start from when the leads were young
You build up the momentum from there. Get to understand the lead's personality and character from their childhood till the later part of their lives. This is vital.

7. Tears
There must always be tears.
Every single character must cry at some point of the drama.
And not like the normal tearing cry. The sobbing type of cry. The cry till you no longer recognise the person sitting in front of you cry.

8. A manipulative bitch
There must always be one very manipulative female lead, plotting against the star-crossed lovers.
She must be so detestful, and so schemeing that us viewers just need to reach out and slap their faces.
The type of bitch that makes you exclaim:
WTF!!! What is wrong with her
And mind you, you exclaim that in between sobs.

9. Sad music
The music must always always be sad. Nothing chirpy. Nothing happy. Nothing hip hop. Its always classical. Hauntingly sad music that makes you cry, everytime the music is played.

10. Scenery.
There must always be something scenic in the drama.
Be it the lavendar fields, the house by the ocean, the wintry landscape, the red leaves during autumn, the huge houses that the leads get to live in..

With the above, I guarantee that you will have a very very successful Korean Drama.
Kimchi anyone?
