I Believe

He sang it in such a way it brought tears to my eyes.
You close your eyes, and the voice fills your soul.

And I just wish, they will let him go now.
For the first time, I was so tempted to pick up the phone and vote for something as senseless as this.
But I strongly believe, the longer you put him in this competition, the more you are prolonging the pain.

After Singapore Idol, I lost faith in these competition.
Lost faith in Singaporean.

Clearly Olinda was the stronger singer.
Clearly this is just all for entertainment.
Clearly every one knows that no one singer can make it big in Singapore.
Haven't we seen it all?
From One-fifth (with Jamie Teo) to our Peace Boyband to Taufik to Sylvester to that CCC girl group that won talentime.

Which one of the above made it phenomenally big?

I am not against giving the physically handicaps a chance in competitions.
I am not saying that just because they are handicapped, they are not capable of being in the compeition with the rest of us.
I adore that blind guy.
His voice blew me away, he sings wayyyyyyy better than our rocker Sylvester.
But is it worth it?
To gamble a person's feelings all for entertainment?

We all know, shows like these are purely for entertainment.
We enjoy watching those stupid contestants try it out in the auditions, we love to watch the finalists battle it out on stage.
We love to watch all that. But honestly, when the winner cuts an album, how many of us seriously follow it through and buy the albums, support them like we support the overseas stars?
Not only does the winner have to do well in Singapore, they will have to compete with overseas stars to survive.
My point is, it is all for entertainment.

And I just think it is not fair to subject the disabled to this type of false hopes.
Because eventually, they will fall out of the competition.
And even if you pull it through..
The road for them to climb is so difficult.

And the producers should seriously question themselves.
If they are allowing the handicap to join purely because they want to give them a chance. Or also partly because it is going to give them the added boost in ratings?
I feel it is wrong if your primary premise is wrong to begin with.

So seriously, as much as I love that blind guy.
I wish he would drop out of the competition early.
For every stage he proceed, the hopes become higher.
